Vertiv Acquires BMarko to Expand AI Data Center Infrastructure Capacity

Vertiv’s BMarko acquisition adds structural fabrication capacity, targeting faster delivery of prefabricated infrastructure for AI-driven data center growth.
Vertiv acquired BMarko Structures to expand its in-house structural fabrication capabilities as demand for AI data center infrastructure increases, the company said in a press release.
The acquisition integrates BMarko into Vertiv’s Infrastructure Solutions business in North America, adding engineering and fabrication capacity for manufactured and prefabricated systems used in data center deployments.
AI-driven workloads are increasing pressure on data center operators to bring capacity online faster, shifting focus to infrastructure layers that affect build timelines. Vertiv said customers are placing greater emphasis on time-to-capacity, flexibility, and efficiency as deployment cycles compress.
BMarko specializes in custom-engineered structural builds, including steel and wood frame systems aligned with data center and AI facility requirements. The company operates a roughly 560,000 sq ft engineering and fabrication facility in South Carolina, located near Vertiv’s regional manufacturing operations.
Vertiv said bringing structural fabrication in-house is expected to improve execution consistency and strengthen control over materials and manufacturing processes. The company also expects the move to support higher levels of customization for complex infrastructure builds.
“AI is reshaping infrastructure requirements, with customers placing greater demands on time-to-capacity, flexibility, and efficiency across the infrastructure layer,” Gio Albertazzi, CEO of Vertiv, said in the release.
The companies had an existing working relationship prior to the acquisition, with BMarko supporting Vertiv on long-term projects. Vertiv said the integration is expected to strengthen execution and reduce dependency on external suppliers for structural components.
The deal adds to Vertiv’s broader push to expand capacity and control across the data center infrastructure stack as AI adoption increases. Vertiv said it is expanding engineering and manufacturing capacity to meet rising infrastructure demand.
Vertiv said the acquisition will enhance its ability to deliver converged infrastructure solutions, combining multiple system components into integrated deployments designed for scalability and repeatability.
The company said the added fabrication capability will help it respond to evolving infrastructure requirements as demand continues to grow.
